Kim started organizing tournaments and running league while living in El Segundo, which means “the second”. Also, Los Angeles, the general base of Kim’s organizing operations — a place with a proud Pokémon tradition — is the second largest city in the country. In the lore of this game, Gyms are the organizations where Pokemon trainers go to grow and test their skills. Putting the area and the organization together results in: Second City Gym.
